building community Christmas at St Chad’s Unto us a son is given 2010 Diary
St Chad’s: A Community building Communities We’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in St Chad’s a blessed Christmas and New Year. We have both been hugely encouraged by the response to Bless the Community, which has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered. (If you’ve not already been contacted by your team leader, please expect to be in the next week). Share will be returning in mid January so we’ve provided you with important dates for your diary in January and the months beyond. We hope you find this information useful! Jill Hookway and Johanna Pearson
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” It took an army of angels to tell the incredible story of the arrival of God’s Son on planet earth. Jesus had been born and would live amongst us. The story is even more extraordinary because we know how it ended. Christ died on the cross and rose again so that a broken world full of broken people could be restored. We have a message that can change the world. If we give all the glory to God, and not to the false gods we squander it on, there can be peace on earth – personal peace with God,
Bless the Community
peace with one another, a way by which God can once again take pleasure in the human race that has so damaged the earth he created. Today we are the angels or messengers of God. The best way to catch the Christmas spirit is not by going to Christmas parties or even Christmas services but by getting excited about the message and sharing it with others.
Thank you to everyone who gave towards the Hampers... we have raised over £1000!
Christmas at GAP Process: Looking forward! St Chad’s Thank you to everyone who returned a church audit form! The analysis from the first batch of forms has been completed and reviewed by the PCC. Many of you will be wondering, “What now?” Well… here’s how we will be hoping to move forward: December 2009 Invite everyone to attend a “Seeking God’s vision” session where the PCC members will lead discussions around “What do we think God wants our church to be like in 2009”, and, based on where we are now, what priorities and plans do we need to embark upon to get there? Look out for your invitation – and please start seeking God for His wisdom. Tuesday 12 January 2009 7.45pm, Romiley Lifecentre “Seeking God’s vision” session for the whole church, led and facilitated by the PCC.* Sunday 17 January 2009, 12.30pm, Romiley Lifecentre Alternative “Seeking God’s vision” session for the whole church, led and facilitated by the PCC.* *People are only asked to attend one session – we hope that by making two sessions available, more people will be able to attend overall. Saturday 23 January 2009 PCC “Away Day” to seek God and develop our vision and plans.
