Roasted Garlic spread (with Rosemary)

OUR December SPECIALS: Deep Tissue Massage

4-6 full heads of garlic Olive oil for baking and for mixing Pinch of salt

Is the stress of the holiday season making your shoulders so tight, they could be touching your ears? Take care of that with a healing Deep Tissue treatment. Regularly $85.00 $ 10.00 off

Fresh rosemary– optional Preheat the oven or a toaster oven to 375ºF. Line a small baking pan with foil and drizzle with a little olive oil. Trim the tips of the garlic, then stand the bulb upright on the oiled foil. Roast for 30-40 minutes, or until the bulb feels soft when gently squeezed. Remove from the oven at let cool. When comfortable to handle, break the bulb into individual cloves and squeeze the pulp from the skins. This will be a slightly sticky process and the bulbs may break apart a little -- all of which is fine. Using a food processor or hand blender blend/mash the garlic cloves into a paste, adding about a tablespoon of olive oil at a time until it is a smooth paste. If desired– add some fresh rosemary leaves and incorporate. Put in an airtight container and keep refrigerated– you may keep this for at least a month.

Sugar Scrub/Foot Reflexology Special

A luxurious hour-long combination treatment using our handmade essential oil infused Sugar Scrubs. A 45 minute professional Reflexology session following an aromatic exfoliating, skin softening sugar scrub application. Choose from: Lavender, Peppermint, vanilla or Lemongrass. $ 60.00

Rosemary Essential oil Rosmarinus Officinalis

The rosemary bush in the mint family which includes basil, lavender, myrtle, and sage. The health benefits of rosemary essential oil made it a favorite of Paracelsus, a renowned sixteenth century physician. He valued rosemary oil due to its ability to strengthen the entire body. He (rightly) believed that rosemary oil had the ability to heal delicate organs such as liver, brain as well as heart. We use it in nearly all of our homemade lotion, cream and soap preparations in some amount due to its highly esteemed properties. Boost Mental Activity: Rosemary essential stimulates mental activity and is a good remedy for depression, mental fatigue and forgetfulness. Inhaling rosemary oil lifts your spirits immediately. Pain Relief: The ability of rosemary essential oil to relieve pain has resulted in its extensive usage in headaches, muscle pains, sore muscles, rheumatism and even arthritis. Its properties as a rubifacient in this respect make it valuable for pain relief. Aroma: Rosemary has a mesmerizing aroma and is one of my personal favorites. It is an excellent inhalant, and is used in room fresheners, cosmetics, beauty aids, food, bath oil, candles and SOAPS due to its aroma. Respiratory Problems: Rosemary essential oil is unmatched in treating respiratory problems . The scent of the oil gives relief from throat congestion. antiseptic it is effective for respiratory infections as well. Indigestion: Rosemary leaves are often added to meat dishes as it helps in digesting meat, especially lamb, beef and pork. A room diffuser or room spray with rosemary or a rosemary blend is wonderful and healthful way to scent your home. I like to blend it with orange, frankincense, cedarwood or geranium and of course– our favorite lavender.

What is Reiki and how does it work? Reiki is a Vibrational or Energy Therapy. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. It has been found that Reiki treatment is very effective in helping cancer patients, helps surgeries to heal faster and in general boosts the immune system and healing capacity of the body to deal with any ailment. It is so effective, some progressive Hospitals have begun incorporating Reiki into their treatment and recovery programs. Winter Solstice Reiki Healing Attunement . This winter it will be Sunday December 20th from 11:00 Am to 4:00 PM . This event coincides with the major seasonal shifts of our planet, the Spring and Autumn equinoxes and Winter and Summer Solstices. Each seasonal shift represents a change in energies and has traditional associations with it, including an Angelic overseer of that season. We can make our intentions more powerful and far reaching by “piggybacking” on to the boost of energy that occurs at the traditional seasonal shifts. Ancient cultures knew this and respected and revered these special times of the year. The Reiki Healing Attunement is an energetic treatment, or vibrational therapy in the Tibetan Reiki tradition. It is a very focused Reiki treatment that provides an extra boost to any healing intent for yourself or another, or for empowering your goals and projects for the next season. Your Reiki Masters will be Helen and Melissa, both Reiki Master Teachers in the Usui Tibetan tradition. Each Session is approx. 15 to 20 minutes, and is $25.00. This event is by appointment only. The cyclical arrangement of the equinox and solstice timing are part of yet a larger cycle beginning in Autumn with the conception of your intent or goal. The Winter allows the energy to gestate and take form. The Spring is the birth or emergence , and the Summer is the full expression, or harvest.

Thai Yoga Massage with Elizabeth Gresher Liz has been developing her personal yoga practice for over 10 years. Through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, she earned her teaching certification in May of 2007. Since then, she has organized Hatha Yoga classes for small groups, and provided private instruction for individuals at both the beginner and intermediate level. In addition to Hatha instruction, a basic class is likely to include elements of breath awareness, Yoga nidra, and meditation. Currently, Liz offers Hatha yoga classes at the Bliss Yoga Studio in Warrenville, Il. Liz is also a certified practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage. She studied under Chuck Duff and earned her certification through the Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Evanston, IL. Thai Massage is actually a passive form of yoga in which the practitioner positions the body of the recipient in yoga-like stretches while applying gentle acupressure. Similar to the benefits of regular Hatha Yoga practice, Thai Yoga Bodywork reduces stress, improves circulation, increases energy and flexibility, improves range of motion, and has an overall centering effect on the mind and body.
