January 1 is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have a Vigil Mass on December 31 at 7:00pm. st Masses on January 1 will be at 9:00am and 12:15pm. Spanish Mass will be at 7:00pm.

LIVING ROSARY: We will have a Living Rosary in church at 7:15pm on Monday, January 5th in honor of Mary, Mother of God. All are invited to join us!

DO YOU KNIT OR CROCHET? St. Andrew has recently started a Prayer Shawl Ministry. All skill levels are welcome, we can even teach you! We normally meet the first Thursday th each month at 6:30pm in room 201. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 8 . Please join us! For information, call Christy Medina: 7/521-2857.

FRIDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY will resume on Friday, January 9, 2009. We meet in the RCIA room in Bldg. B and the time is 7:30-9:30pm. In the first reading, God promises King David that his house and his kingdom will endure forever. It is through Mary’s “Yes” – “I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me as you say.” – that the promise finds fulfillment.

DONATIONS OF YARN NEEDED!Our Prayer Shawl Ministry is now accepting donations of yarn to be made into “prayer shawls”. MARTIN DE PORRES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: We will be providing dinner and lunches for two shelters, Central Presbyterian Church (~70 men) and Immaculate Conception (~35 men) on the following dates: January 5, February 2, and March 2. Volunteers are needed in 3 areas: Preparing food, serving at the shelter, & staying overnight. If you are able to help, or need more info, please email [email protected].

ST. ANDREW NOW ACCEPTS ONLINE CONTRIBUTIONS! We initiated a new website-based Electronic Giving Program that we hope will better facilitate your personal and family stewardship. After a few simple steps, you can create automatic recurring donations, or perform one-time transactions whenever you wish. Go to www.standrewcatholic.com and click on the “Giving” tab. We hope this service provides a welcome option for the increasing number of parishioners who prefer to manage their finances electronically. CALLING ALL 6TH-8TH GRADERS! EDGE RETREAT AT COVECREST: FEB. 13-15, 2009! th

Please join us for a youth retreat in the mountains on February 13 -15 2009. This retreat is open to all children in grades 6th, 7th, & 8th. The cost is $140/child and it includes meals, transportation, housing, and weekend activities! Money is due by January 15, 2009! We need to have at least 25 youth to make this event possible. Children are welcome to bring friends, as long as their parents know this is a Catholic retreat. All children will need to fill out permission slips and complete medical release forms! A HEARTFELT THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone that made donations of fleece, money, or time to our Fleece Blanket Making Party in November! The event was a huge success and we made over 30 blankets! Igualmente se necesitan tres personas para atender las ventas y la limpieza antes y después de la misa. Este es un proyecto comunitario para el beneficio de todos.

MINISTERIO JOVENES ADULTOS: Mayores de 18 años. Te invita a sus reuniones semanales todos los viernes de 8-9:30pm. COPA DE ELÍAS: La Copa de Elías se entrega al finalizar la misa a familias/personas dispuesta a orar por vacaciones sacerdotales durante una semana. El cáliz sirve de punto de enfoque durante la oración. Apúntate en el vestíbulo.
