Proposed activities for the EVS Volunteers: Romania, Greece, Spain (Oct 16-Dec15, 2016) Kindly note that Nepali administration works for 6 days a week, working hour 10am-5pm. Saturday is weekly break. Please consider this activity plan a tentative one, you may add your expected outcomes of this activity in Nepal, so that we will try to incorporate those. In addition, given the weather and the local contexts on logistics, the activity plan may move up and down between the week. Your comments are highly appreciated. Thank you Week one: Oct 16-21     

Arrival Settling down (accommodation, shopping, adjustment) Visit Shruti office to attend induction meeting and get to know the staff and board members Get to know the counterpart staff/interns Discussion on individual interest/expertise

Week two: Oct 23-28  

Entry meeting with the European Union office and the Ambassador (if possible) Meeting with the Ministry of Women, Children and Disability to share policies on disability

Week three: Oct 30-Nov 4   

Orientation on language and culture Tour Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur Observe Diwali festival and public holidays

Week four: Nov 6-11  

Visit Dhading district to observe Shrut’s school project (school visit, interview teachers and parents, district education office) Prepare brief report on the visit and impression

Week five: Nov 13-18    

Meet schools in Kathmandu to understand Shruti’s activities Meet entrepreneurship groups of disability members to share the activities Household surveys to understand the disability situation Prepare brief report on the survey

Week six: Nov 20-25   

Visit Pokhara Meet with organizations/groups on hearing disability and conduct interaction Conduct small hiking with the group for networking



Prepare brief report in the visit and the impression

Week seven: Nov 27-Dec 2  

Continue household survey Prepare brief report on the survey and make presentations

Week eight: Dec 4-9  

Conduct workshop with Shruti to share the overall experience of the activity Wrap up by sharing impression of the logistics (food, accommodation, culture etc.)

Week nine: Dec 11-15    

Tourism Shopping Wrap up Prepare to leave
