Key Skills Team work I was a House Captain in Year 13. This meant that I had to work with the other prefects to ensure the smooth running of many events, as well as motivate my house to participate and succeed in these events. I am an active member of the rugby community and know what it takes to make a successful team on the sporting field.
Time management Tight deadlines with school work means that I have had to manage my time to make sure that I get all my work done. In my final year of school, I had a lot of extra curricular activities to balance with my school work which taught me to prioritise.
Academic achievement I have successfully attained the National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3. I studied a broad range of subjects at Level 3, including Mathematics with Statistics and Workshop Technology.
Focussed and willing to learn I have a very clear career goal to focus on and work towards. I am very willing to learn from my work mates and to use that knowledge to get a better understanding of the building and construction industry. I have experience of the building and construction industry through my work experience placement, so I know that it is where I want to be.
Reliable Excellent attendance record at school over 5 years. Always on time and ready to work.

Harrison Building Downtown City
I wanted to get to experience the building and construction industry when I went on my Year 13 work experience, so I was very glad when Harrison Building agreed to give me a work experience placement for a week. I spent this time assisting a qualified builder on site, I helped out with general labouring tasks and I was also given the chance to spend some time in the site office assisting the Construction Site Manager with invoices and general data entry. This helped me decide that I wanted to work in the building and construction industry and to have a career goal of becoming a Construction Site Manager. Jan 2005 – Dec 2006
