UDL group – introduction to critical thinking, curriculum planning through UDL, effective assessment, and the integration of interactive whiteboard technology in the classroom.

September 10th:

Cohort 2 – introductory session 3:30 – 5:30 session with subject leaders in Math and Social studies/humanities

September 11th:

½ day principal session on critically thoughtful leadership ½ day school walk-thru

September 21th:

All cohort one teachers – facilitated by Garfield (social studies), Laura (math), Phil (science), Mary (primary) 3:30 – 5:30 session with subject leaders in science and elementary

September 22th:

Phil and Mary school based work with teachers

Oct. 12th

Laura – UDL group – planning curriculum and classroom assessments

Oct. 12th

Note: Twice during the year cohorts 1 and 2 would meet together to share their work and questions. This would allow cohort 1 participants to share their knowledge and ideas with cohort 2 and for some shared planning time to extend the community. Japanese Lesson Study: This would involve a TC2 facilitator co-planning a lesson with a MCPS teacher. Either the TC2 facilitator or the MCPS teacher would deliver the lesson while the other would observe the children and how they were responding to the lesson. Following the lesson the 5:33 PMC2 facilitator

and the MCPS teacher would debrief together to discuss what worked well and possible revisions.
