In your journal, draw a sense of space using all five of the following techniques. Include steps or directions for each technique and title each page. You can use simple shapes, or you can draw actual objects. Use color to make it more interesting. (each technique is defined on page 114) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

overlapping size placement detail color
3. Benton uses PLACEMENT of the party people to create a sense of depth. 2. Raphael uses SIZE to create a sense of depth. By making the people as tall as the buildings, they seem in front of building and it seems like it far away.
4. Bruegel uses DETAIL in the foreground figures to create a sense of depth.
5. Da Vinci uses COLOR in the background to create a sense of depth. The landscape close to Mona Lisa is brighter than it is as it goes away form her.
