The race for college football's highest individual honor is heating up. Who will win it this year? Well, Alabama Running Back Mark Ingram with a 473 votes = (6.25 average rating) might have something to say about whom “Strikes a Pose”… (Note: Mark Ingram is looking to be the first ever BAMA Player to win this award)…. 2009 stats: 11 games, 205 rushes for 1,399 yards, 12 TD’s; 25 catches for 225 yards, 3 TD’s. Last game (45-0 victory vs. Chattanooga): Ingram got only 11 carries, for 102 yards and two scores against a substandard opponent. The touchdown runs came from 25 and 40 yards. In the process, passed Shaud Williams, Glen Coffee and Shaun Alexander moving into second place on the schools all-time rushing list. Next game (at Auburn, 11/27): Ingram was not spectacular but solid last season as he ran 15 times for 64 yards and scored twice to help the Tide to a 36-0 victory over Auburn, ending a six-game losing streak in the Iron Bowl. But for what's at stake in a race that is far from decided, he will need to make a bigger impact this time around. After opening the year with five straight wins, the Tigers have gone 2-3 in their last five games, including Saturday’s 31-24 loss at Georgia. As far as Ingram is concerned, Auburn's rushing defense represents its soft spot, ranking 88th nationally and giving up an average of 169.7 yards a game.
