Executive Summary An airline is a system for scheduled air transport of passengers and freight, sometimes also called airway. Airline business started after First World War in America and Europe. Soon after the trend started as the British government started Air India in 1930’s. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is an airline based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the national airline and operates domestic services and international routes to Asia, Europe and the United States. Its main base is Zia International Airport, Dhaka. Bangladesh Biman was established on 4 January 1972 and started its operations in February 1972. It renamed itself as Biman Bangladesh Airlines in 1983 after acquiring some new aircrafts during the period of ex-president Hussain Mohammad Ershad. After changing several aircrafts and management system biman is now operating 13 aircrafts and 8 departments. These 8 departments are; 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

At present Biman is going through a deadly crisis since its facing a huge loss of about 18 crore taka per year. This is because of few reasons which include both internal and external problems. These are insufficient Aircraft. old aircraft, oil crisis, outstanding loan, lack of Modern Technology, mismanagement, Labor union, Corruption, Unethical Use of Power and Government Involement and lot of problems like that. In this case we will describe each of the problems and try to figure out the possible solutions for the problems.
