To Whom It May Concern: I am interested in applying for an elementary-level teaching position in your school district. As a future May 2019 graduate of Dakota State University, I have student teaching experience on the second-grade level. I believe my teaching experience and passion for building a strong rapport with learners make me an ideal candidate for a teaching position at your school. I have experience teaching a diverse range of elementary-level learners in a variety of settings. I am currently teaching second-grade children in a personalized learning program, which also includes learners in third, fourth, and fifth grade for reading, writing, and math. As a former education classroom leader, I also have experience teaching first-grade students, including many English-language learners, in an after-school program. Not only do I have experience in classroom-like settings, but in the community as well. I have helped out with different events pertaining to the Red Cross, United Way, and more. I have also volunteered my time throughout the summer and school year by providing free basketball coaching sessions for multiple ages within my previous community. I think my varied experiences would make me a valuable asset to your program. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your school district and community. I would welcome an interview and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely, Kristen Steffen
