Fieldwork with your Mentor: Provide a description of

Number of Hours

I met with Kim and Jason to tell them more about my project. We discussed what the year would be like and I shared my vision for my videos with them. Met with mentors to finalize paperwork and discuss ideas more in depth. I asked for input about different ideas that I had in order to obtain help. I was also showed different camera equipment and taught how to use them in the proper way.

Independent Fieldwork: Provide a description of all fieldwork you complete independently. I created a background banner for my YouTube channel. I spent time editing photos and learning how to change the size of photos in order to allow them to fit into the YouTube platform I began to start filming my first video. I filmed a few scenes with the help of my sister. I had to film the scenes and watch them to ensure that everything came out the way that I wanted them to. I began to start planning out my first video by writing out a script. I had brainstormed ideas for weeks prior and then I decided what I wanted to do, for their I scripted out the video and planned the scenes that I wanted to include. I filmed the rest of my first video. I had to learn more about camera placement, sound levels, and angles in order to properly film this video.

Number of Hours 1

I began the editing process of my first video. I was completely blind to how the editing programming worked so I had to learn as I was going. This was an extremely long, difficult, and tasking process. I had to re-film footage because of my lack of experience with IMovie, I lost about half of what I had filmed the prior day.

I had to re-edit the footage from earlier in the day and add final touches to the video. I then posted the video and asked my friends to promote it online.

My friend Maria and I went to the Savers thrift store in Attleborough to film for a video. For this video, I planned to make a montage going into so when we arrived I made sure to obtain all the clips that I needed. In addition, later that day I had to film a try on portion to the video which I showcased all the items that I bought thrifting. In addition, I had to write and film an intro and outro to play at the beginning and ending of every video.

1/3/19

I had to edit all of the footage 6 from my thrifting trip. This was a long process due to the fact that I needed to learn a new skill in order to properly express my vision for the video. After editing, I posted the video.

1/6/19

For a video, my friends and I went to the Quincy Quarries for sunrise. We had to leave extremely early in the morning and had a long drive in order to get their. Once their, I filmed a majority of what I wanted to do but then my phone died because it was too cold and I did not have all the footage I wanted to.

1/10/19

I had to edit the footage from 5 the Quarries. Unfortunately there of was a lot of vulgar graffiti and spray paint at the quarries and I could not figure out how to blur objects, so I could not use a lot of the footage.

OAHS Senior Project 1/6/19 to 1/17/19

Throughout the week I filmed 4 different clips for a week in my life video. I filmed my school days, work, and after school activities.

1/18/19

I edited all the footage from the week in my life video. Unfortunately I did not like the video and thought that it was not good enough for me to post, so I never ended up using it.

2/1/19

I went to a trampoline park and filmed a video with my siblings.

2

3/19/19

Throughout my day I filmed a day in my life video. I filmed my day at school, after school, and an extra get ready with me portion for my morning.

3

3/20/19

My friend Maria and I filmed 4 a goth transformation video. We had to go to a store, buy makeup, execute the look, then go back out into public in order to get reactions from the community.

3/22/19 to 3/24/19

I edited the goth 8 transformation video. This was a difficult process because I had to learn how to edit on my Ipad. I spent a few hours getting used to the new controls, but finally got my groove and figured it out.

3/22/19 to 3/23/19

I filmed my trip to tour a college in Colorado in order

4

OAHS Senior Project to make a video about what applying to college is actually like. I spent time planning out different portions of the video in order to clearly express the message that I wanted to get across. 3/26/19

I filmed a cooking video where I attempted to make a meal for my friends. I had to go shopping for the supplies, find my recipes, cook the meal, and serve it to my people.

5

3/27/19

My friend Olivia and I filmed 2 a photoshoot video. We went to different locations and took pictures.

3/28/19

I filmed a crafting video where I attempted to tie dye different styles and patterns. I had to go shopping for supplies and attempt the looks that I wanted to achieve.

4

3/25/19 to 4/1/19

I edited all my videos. I used two different editing programs in order to do this. It was hard at first because I had to learn the controls for Adobe Premiere, but once I got the hang of it the editing went quicker.
