~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The recent advances in the information and communications technologies have led to the creation of a significant amount of wealth and knowledge for businesses and individuals. By encouraging information-based alliances, business webs can identify, create and deliver value to economic agents. In a similar way, virtual communities have defined new rules of E-business by strengthening the social networks and economic communities. What will be the next stage? Placing the debate in a practitioner’s context and drawing examples from recent industry examples, this conference aims at providing an explanation of the major changes that business managers and corporate decision-makers will be facing in the forthcoming years.

BIOGRAPHY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sharam Alijani is the founder and President of AIMS WorldWide Ltd. and AMU Inc., a strategic consulting and investment group that helps SMEs achieve and sustain competitive advantage through innovation and value creation strategies. In addition, the company provides business re-engineering and investment consultancy to development and support programs for innovative ventures. Sharam co-founded Bausch Datacom in 1992, a pioneer in ICT and Internet services in Europe, participated in launching, an Internet magazine, and set up Internet Academy, an online B-to-B platform. Sharam holds a BS in Computer Sciences, a Masters in City and Urban Planning, and a PhD in Economics. He teaches International Business and Strategic Management at Reims Management School and Economics of Technology and Media at the American University of Paris. His current research interests are in economics of innovation, technology, media, and value creation business models and dynamics through e-business strategies.
