About CONDITIONAL IMMORTALITY -- THE BELIEF THAT MAN'S SOUL IS NATURALLY MORTAL; IMMORTALITY BEING A GIFT OF GOD [1] THROUGH SALVATION. IMMORTALITY, THEREFORE, IS CONDITIONAL UPON SALVATION; STANDING IN STARK CONTRAST TO THE MORE POPULAR DOCTRINE OF THE NATURAL IMMORTALITY OF THE SOUL [1]
Defining Immortality Before determining either, the Universal or Conditional nature of the Soul's Immortality, we first have to define what is meant by the term "immortality". This section explains the nature of "immortality" as synonymous with that of "eternal life". THAT WHICH IS ETERNAL, THEREFORE, IS IMMORTAL and THAT WHICH IS IMMORTAL, LIVES FOREVER. Understanding the above, is extremely important in determining whether man's soul is immortal by nature, or by grace.
The History and Development of Conditional Immortality A discussion relating to the historical development of Conditional Immortality from Justin Martyr to our day.
The Nature of Immortality A brief look at the Nature of Eternal Life and Immortality. Is it universal? Or is it conditional?

Statements & Confessions The 1660 General Baptist Confession "II. That God in the beginning made Man Upright, and put him into a state and condition of Glory, without the least mixture of misery, FROM WHICH HE BY TRANSGRESSION FELL, AND SO CAME INTO A MISERABLE AND MORTAL ESTATE, SUBJECT UNTO THE FIRST DEATH. (Gen. 1v31, 2v17, 3v17-19; Ecc. 7v29)"
