Mix design of Concrete grades M35 and M40: Observation on Interim report. 1.Trial Mix conducted on dated 27.06.2008 and 28.06.2008. 2. M/s GDC No. GDC / STEPCO/126 dated 19.06.2008 3. This Office letter no. DGM / FQA / APL / GDC / 001 dated 17.06.2008
Based on interim reports of Design Mixes of concrete grade M35 and M40 submitted by M/s GDC, the trial mixes for Grade M35 and M40 respectively was carried out on dated 27.06.2008 and 28.06.2008 and found that the slump obtained for both the mixes, M 35 and M40, is not requisite for pumpable concrete. Therefore it is suggested to review the both the design mixes M35 and M40 Further in reference and continuation to earlier letters, it is to further reiterate that Quality Monitoring by Gannon Dunkerley and Co. is poor for RCC works based on the SD and CoV values derived from the characteristic compressive strength of cubes obtained at the age of 28 days. The results obtained for 28 age concrete compressive strength, with SD and CoV calculated, was submitted earlier vide letter under reference 3 above. You are therefore requested to look into the matter. Thanking you [K.P.Chakerwarti] Deputy General Manager, Field Quality Assurance 5 x 660 MW TPP, Adani Power Limited, Mundra.
