THE main entrance of your house is an important pathway where energy flows in to enhance the overall well-being of the occupants. In feng shui, it’s essential that there should not be any objects or sharp structures pointing directly at the entrance of the house. Such sharp objects would create negative chi or sha chi and this would affect the occupants of the house.

Diagram 2

the T-junction is captured within the door frame as you look out from the house, it means you are encountering the T-junction sha. To remedy this, you can put up a wall or plant some trees to shield yourself, especially if the traffic is light as this means that the sha qi is not moving at real speed. However, this is probably not going to bring relief if the traffic volume is heavy. If the T-junction is out of the door frame, there is less negative effect and the above remedy should take care of the problem.

Diagram 1 is an example of the piercing sha (negative energy) if it is located in front of the main door. Any form of “pointy” roofs across the street is considered a piercing sha, especially if directed at your main door or balcony opening. However, the sharp object must be visible at eye level between the two vertical frames of either side of the main door or balcony opening. You have nothing to worry about if the pitch roof is higher and above the level of the door frame or balcony opening frame of the house where you are looking out from. It is only a piercing sha if it is within the door frame when viewed at eye level.

When you are inside the house looking out at eye level, any sharp corner from across the street that can be

seen from within the main door or balcony door frame is considered a sharp corner sha. (See Diagram 2.) However, it is not a sharp corner sha if it is located out of the door frame. It is highly advisable to avoid this kind of property. But if you are already living in such an environment, you can plant a barrier of trees to shield the sha qi from penetrating. But hanging feng shui items like a pak kua does not help in deflecting this negative chi.

» T-junction sha If the main door faces the hard end of a T-junction, this is a major feng shui problem. If the actual road of

» Physical Obstruction If there is a tree trunk or lamp pole (as in Diagram 3) across or in front of the main door but outside the door frame eye level, it is still fine. However, it is a disaster if there is a lamp post, telephone pole or tree trunk standing in the centre across the doorway and within the door frame. The most effective remedy is to change the location of the main door.

Save fuel on the road with Shell tips FESTIVE seasons and school holidays provide a perfect opportunity for Shell to promote fuel economy among the motorists making journeys back to their hometowns. In view of the higher living costs, Shell is pleased to offer motorists an effective way of reducing fuel consumption while encouraging a safe and smooth ride. In collaboration with AMP Radio, Shell FuelSave Tips car windscreen stickers were given away to listeners of HitzFM, Era, SinarFM, My FM, Mix.FM and THR Raaga along

the respective radio station’s cruiser stops. Listeners just had to log on to www.hitz.fm, www.mix. fm, www.era.fm, www.sinar. fm, www.myfm.com.my and www.thr.fm, to find out where they can get their free Shell FuelSave Tips decals. The participating Shell stations include those from the Central, North, South and East Coast region. Among the FuelSave tips are: filling the tyres with the recommended pressure, changing the engine oil to ensure better engine efficien-

cy, and avoiding unnecessary loads in your car. To bring more value to its customers during the festive season, Shell collaborated with Permanis In October to provide motorists with free samplings of Lipton Tea packed drinks on weekends from 10am to 6pm at Shell stations located on the highway. This promotion will carry on right through till January 2009. For more information, visit www.shell.com or call 1 300 88 1208.
