Cola®Quat PHC CTFA/INCI: Water, Propylene glycol; Linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate; Dihydroxypropyl PEG-5 Linoleammonium Chloride; Glycol stearate; Sodium laureth sulfate; Hexylene glycol
DESCRIPTION Cola®Quat PHC is a powerful conditioning agent combined with a pearlizing compound and is designed to provide superior wet comb-out and control of fly-away hair. It can be used as a dilution in water or combined with a built shampoo where the addition of Cola®Quat PHC can create a pearly 2-in-1 shampoo from an existing formula. The primary conditioning agents are derived from safflower and soybean containing essential fatty acids that have been identified as crucial for the maintenance of healthy scalp and hair conditions. Cola®Quat PHC is free of polymeric materials and silicones that can build up on the hair resulting in a flat, over-conditioned look.
USE LEVELS AND CONDITIONS Cola®Quat PHC can be added to existing shampoo bases to create a 2-in-1 pearlized shampoo at a level of 5% to 10% by weight. Due to the strong cationic nature of Cola®Quat PHC, it may not be immediately compatible with systems containing anionic polymers or formulas that do not contain an amphoteric compound. The addition of a betaine such as Cola®Teric COAB or a cocoamphodiacetate such as Cola®Teric CDCX LV will mitigate any negative interactions when pre-blended with PHC. When used by itself to create a hair conditioner, Cola®Quat PHC can simply be mixed with a saline solution to make a highly functional luxurious hair conditioner. Use levels of Cola®Quat PHC would range in the 20% to 30% range. Some examples of formulations are given on the back of this brochure.

Add ingredients in Phase B sequentially with continued mixing until product is homogenous. Avoid aeration at all times, adjust final pH to 6.5-7.0 with 50% citric acid then add fragrance, color, and preservative as needed. Combine 25% of the prepared concentrate with 75% of a NaCl solution to create the finished shampoo. The final viscosity can be adjusted by the amount of salt used. Our recommendation is about 2% NaCl (2 gm. NaCl/100 ml. Water) to give a viscosity of about 12,000 cps.
