Other actives such as humectants, alpha hydroxy acids, and proteins can be added to the aqueous phase also. Care must be taken when using cationic materials as these may destabilize the emulsion. Other oil soluble additives such as vitamins, esters, and silicones can be included provided they are soluble themselves in the oil of choice. Typical formulations utilize triglyceride oils from 5% to 20%. It is recommended to use an equivalent amount of Cola®Mulse TGE. Other oils such as petrolatum and mineral oil can also be used. Mild heat during the mixing phase with adequate homogenization will ensure a uniform stable product.

Appearance: Opaque white emulsion pH: 5.5 - 6.5 with citric acid Viscosity: ~30,000 CPS PROCEDURE: Combine ingredients as shown in separate phases. Apply heat to both sufficient to achieve a smooth mixture with stirring. Add Phase B to Phase A with continued stirring until homogenous. Adjust pH to 5.5 - 6.0 with citric acid. Stir-cool and add color, fragrance, and preservative as needed.
