Cola®Mid AVCO INCI Name: Avocadamide DEA, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil

DESCRIPTION Based upon natural avocado oil, Cola®Mid AVCO combines the benefits of this natural oil with the functional properties of an alkanolamide surfactant. Avocado oil has been found to be an advantageous ingredient in cosmetic preparations that are designed to prevent dry skin or scalp conditions. Cosmetic use of avocado oil has increased in part because of its rapid skin penetrating properties. Its fast penetration helps alleviate that oily after feel that is often found when other vegetable oils are used. Due to the difficulty of emulsifying avocado oil, however, its use in aqueous systems has been limited. Cola®Mid AVCO is completely selfemulsifying and allows the incorporation of an efficacious level of avocado oil. Some typical examples are listed on the following pages.

(For natural conditioning as well as setting properties after and between shampoos) This mousse imparts cationic and natural avocado oil conditioning while providing a moderate, non-tacky hold. Components Purpose Wt. % Water 91.0 Cola®Mid AVCO Natural oil conditioning, softness, sheen 2.0 Cola®Det LPC Setting, appearance 3.0 Cola®Quat IES Cationic conditioning and detangling 2.0 Siltech D-208 (Siltech) Slip 2.0 Procedure: Mix Cola®Quat IES and water until uniform. Add Cola®Det LPC and mix until dissolved. Add Cola®Mid AVCO and stir until completely blended. Add Siltech D-208 and stir until homogeneous. No heat is required.
