Cola®Det AEM CTFA/INCI: Ammonium Laureth Sulfate and Cocamide MEA

DESCRIPTION Cola®Det AEM is a concentrated surfactant blend containing ammonium laureth sulfate and Cocamide MEA. This versatile blend is especially manufactured for use in products where good foaming characteristics and mildness are desired. Cola®Det AEM is an ideal surfactant blend for use in shampoos, bubble baths, and liquid hand soaps. Its versatile physical properties include the adaptability to a wide variety of manufacturing conditions, particularly where a cold mixing process is necessary.

BIODEGRADABILITY The blend components are biodegradable. Additional information is available upon request.

TOXICITY The toxicology of the major components that make up Cola®Det AEM blend (ammonium laureth sulfate and cocamide MEA) is well known. Ammonium laureth sulfate is slightly toxic orally (LD50>5 g/kg), and causes mild eye irritation at 7.5% test solution and no skin irritation at 0.7 and 0.14% test solutions.

STORAGE AND HANDLING Normal safety precautions (i.e. gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling Cola®Det AEM. Contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling material. It is recommended that Cola®Det AEM be stored in a sealed container and kept at temperatures above 45ºF (7ºC). Avoid overheating or freezing. If material is frozen, mild heat and agitation are recommended to ensure the material is homogeneous before use. Standard Packaging: Cola®Det AEM is available in 55-gallon drums (net weight 450 lb/204 kg). Cola®Det AEM is available as Kosher Certified.
