Newsletter of the Colac Collectable Car Club Inc: A002859B November 2007 PO Box 346 Colac, Vic, 3250. THE BALLAN MEN’S GROUP VISIT The above group, led by Charles Hall, arrived at Brunt’s truck collection at 10.30 am. There were 20 in all travelling in two mini buses. After introductions all round, the group proceeded to follow Merv Brunt to look at the collection and listen to his stories on all the trucks. I must say at this point, even though I have seen the collection many times, that I still get a kick out of seeing them again. While this was going on our members; Doug Haslem, Len Robb, Graham Chislett, Dave Braithway, John Knight, Keith and Liz Chambers, Ted Price and myself wandered through the collection talking to the visitors and making them welcome. One point that impressed the Men’s Group was not only how many turned up from our club, but the fact that some of us had our cars; Ted Price’s Singer, John Knight’s motorbike and sidecar and my Hillman. After lunch was enjoyed at the RSL by the visitors we proceeded to the Provan collection where, after being welcomed by Allan and Andrew Provan, they were shown through their collection of cars and trucks etc. It was also interesting to see the vehicles that Andrew Provan was working on at this time. The Men’s Group I believe have not stopped talking about their visits and wish to organise another at a later date. Thank you to those club members who attended – it was good to see so many. Run Report — WITH Run to Deans Marsh A BIG THANKS to Graham and Geoff for taking the time to heat the pizza oven at Deans Marsh and Colin for a bit of wood. It was a great idea of Kathie's to go there. Kathie did a lot of organising of food to make the pizzas and did a wonderful job supplying a great variety of toppings, thanks also to the other club members who assisted in food preparation. The weather for the evening was lovely. It was a change from the usual BBQ. A good idea well planned which made for a very enjoyable evening. Again, thanks to all who contributed especially to Kathie, well done. Annette

A young girl (aged 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn’t remember anymore. The young girl said, “If you don’t remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six”

Test Run Weekends Please note there has been a change in the Format! Saturday remains unchanged but on Sunday there will be a destination for us to meet at 2.30pm-3.30pm for a drink, food and a talk. This is a social event for new and old members and an excuse to get your classic car out of the garage. Test run weekends remain the third full weekend of the month.
