This column should be filled in with the names of the students in the course before printing off copies. Excused absence. I wanted to have something I could quickly check off at those times when a student approaches me in the classroom -- say, immediately after class -- and says, "Next Wednesday I am going to be away at a lacrosse game," or whatever. Present -- put an "X" for students who aren't there at roll call. Tardy -- if a student isn't there at roll call but then shows up, put a check in this box. This is my participation rubric.
