VI. ST. JOHN-ST. CHARLES DEANERY ASCENSION OF OUR LORD: The CYO monthly meetings will be held on the fourth Sunday after the 7 p.m. Mass in the Holy Family House...The remaining sitting dates for families to take pictures for the upcoming Pictorial Directory are Oct. 22-25 and Oct. 27-30. HOLY FAMILY: The Saltzburg Cathedral Clock from the Extravaganza auction is being raffled as a fund-raiser for the Altar Society and the Youth Group. The clock was handmade from 200-year-old cypress wood. Its base is lighted and it chimes on the quarter hour. Drawing is Nov. 16. For more information, phone Maddie Fabre, (985) 785-0109. SACRED HEART OF JESUS: The Junior Beta Club is collecting black Coke bottle caps through Oct. 31. The club earns five cents for each black cap collected. ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA: The parish will celebrate marriages of 25, 50 and 60 years on Nov. 22 at the 4:30 p.m. Mass. A reception at the CA building will follow... Father Joseph Duc Dzien announced that, after consulting with priests of the deanery, St.Anthony's will begin to schedule weddings for Saturday evenings. ST. CHARLES BORROMEO: There will be an anniversary Mass for married couples celebrating 25, 30, 40, 50 and 50-plus years of wedlock Oct. 25 at 4:30 p.m., with a reception following. Couples who qualify are asked to phone the rectory, (985) 764-6383... The parish's annual golf tournament will take place Nov. 14 at Ormond Country Club. ST. GERTRUDE: The parish's Catholic Youth ministry has available clocks on a plaque with a picture of the church for sale. Orders will be taken after all Masses. ST. JOAN OF ARC: Mary Daigre was recently honored by the school on the 25th anniversary of her teaching career at the school. She is a fourth-grade teacher...Fifth-grader Jaslyn Oberoi won the grand prize in the What it Means to be Real essay contest. Among her prizes were a knapsack, T-shirt and a CD player. The sponsor of the contest also gave a $600 check to the school on her behalf... The next Senior Social will be held Oct. 30. The theme is Happy Halloween. ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST: Winners of the recent Family Festival Pageant were Sara Owens, Miss Queen; Rachel Held, Teen Queen and MaQue Hollins, Junior Queen... Parishioners Gerner and Sybil Matherne recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

MARK: The parish acknowledges the time and efforts of the teachers in the school of religion: Teresa Henderson, kindergarten; Kayle Muller, first grade; Clair Whittaker, third; Tammy Haydel, fourth; Paula Rechon, fifth; Kathy Young, sixth; Tammy Cantrelle, seventh; Dawn Pintado, eighth; Lorraine Faucheux, ninth; and Ernestine Kappel, 11th. ST. PETER: The parish is calling all cooks to provide recipes for the second edition of Heavenly Delights, the St. Peter Community cookbook. Recipes will be accepted until Dec.1. The books will be available at the Mother's Day bake sale on May 9, 2004... Volunteers are needed Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 to help prepare and serve the annual all Saints Gumbo Dinner. Children are invited to the parish hall and breezeway to trick or treat Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Halloween festivities will include games, face painting, and candy. The CYO will collect toiletries for Covenant House at this event... All Saints Vigil Mass will be celebrated Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. ST. JOACHIM: A race/walk will be held Oct. 25 at 9 a.m. Registration forms are available in the book rack. ST. JOSEPH: A comparative study of the Gospels is being offered Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. through Nov. 25. For more information call the parish office at 3681313. ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER: CCD, RCIA and IMANI registration will reopen for one weekend, Oct. 25-26, in the church meeting room. The fee is $30 per child. Classes will begin Oct. 29 at 6:45 p.m...
