The Star Online > Technology Thursday August 13, 2009 Cisco collaborates with Aiesec KUALA LUMPUR: Cisco Malaysia and Aiesec — an international student-run organisation — have launched an internship programme to give Malaysian IT students a chance to expand their skills and gain experience with multinational companies. Under the 6-to-18 month internship, Cisco Networking Academy students will be placed with industry giants such as Tata Consultancy Services, Microsoft, Standard Chartered Bank, IBM, DHL, and PriceWaterHouseCoopers. The students will gain useful experience in the management, maintenance and development of corporate IT networks. These skills will help them further develop the necessary expertise and business acumen needed to address the changing IT needs of companies. “Employers place a high value on international working experience. We want to encourage our students to experience the different cultures and work ethics,” said Anne Abraham, managing director of Cisco Malaysia. Students are invited to apply through Aiesec, where they will be matched to an organisation, based on the company’s needs and the student’s skill set. More information can be found at www.aiesec.org and www.aiesec.my. Aiesec, originally an acronym for Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales, is a non-profit and non-political organisation. © 1995-2009 Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd (Co No 10894-D)
