Want to help out in a B I G G E R way? Christmas Day Dinner is a true community event. Therefore, CFRC depends on the help of dedicated community members for its preparation and completion. You can take a leadership role by becoming a Committee Chair.

…and help make Christmas special for all families!

Committee Chair Commitment: Each Chair is responsible for recruiting key volunteers for their committee to assist with pre, day of and post activities. Each Chair will meet twice monthly September through October and weekly November through Christmas Day. It is up to the Chairs to work on assignments and tasks in between meetings.

CFRC is a non-profit organization that serves Tippecanoe County in three locations, including Lafayette Head Start, The Counseling Center, and South Side Community Center. What services do we offer? Christmas Day Dinner is a perfect example of goodwill and friendship within our community. Last year’s event successfully served 3,100 meals and provided over 1,000 gifts to children in attendance.

Ways you can help: Decorating: Nov 30 - Dec 4 Volunteers in groups of 3-5 people are needed to decorate trees and the building at the South Side Community Center.

Wrapping: Dec 13-23

Procurement The Procurement Team is one of the busiest and most important teams for Christmas Day Dinner. It takes over 150 turkeys and 900 lbs of pork along with tons of sides, breads, and desserts to feed 3,000 community members on Christmas Day. CFRC has well established relationships with many local businesses. We are always looking for new community partners to help cook or donate goods and services. Volunteers are needed to solicit all types of donations for the dinner. Procurement Team Information September – December

Volunteers that would like to wrap, label, and sort toys into bags are needed from 9am to 5pm (after 5pm, by appointment).

Volunteers in groups of 5-10 people are needed to prepare rooms, decorate, and prep food from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Pick Up Team: Dec 22-24 Volunteers interested in picking up food and service items are needed at various times on the days leading up to Christmas.

Meat Prep: Dec 22 – 24 Volunteers in groups of 5 are needed to pull pork and cut/slice turkey from 8am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm.

Christmas Day Dinner: Dec 25 Volunteers are needed to prep and serve food, great and seat guests, and package and deliver take out food. 6am-6pm

South Side Community Center

Tear Down & Clean Up: Dec 26-28

Volunteers are needed to take down all décor and supplies used for the dinner and to help clean the South Side Community Center.
