Alexander Chow 12/4/07 Software App. A Pd. 7 Food choices depend on history, culture, and environment, as well as on energy and nutrient needs. The restaurant that I chose is McDonald’s. My menu is composed of a Grilled Chicken Classic Sandwich, Medium French Fries, Large Sprite, and a Hot Fudge Sundae. Calories are one of the most important things that you should watch. The grilled sandwich and the large french fries that I chose have about 500-600 calories. The large sprite and the sundae have about 300-350. The total of the fat calories is 510 for all the items. The total percentage fat for all the items is 335 %. 1

Another student also made a spread sheet about their meal. Their meal consists of a Cheeseburger, Medium Fries, Hot Fudge Sundae, and a Sprite. The student used less calories items then I did, the total calories is 970, which was about half of my meal. The total fat calories are 350 which are about 200 lower. The percentage of fat that this student used is 277 %. This student clearly chose better meals than me and would have eaten healthier. The Department of Agriculture found that a fat is about 9 calories per gram. The department recommended that you should have about 30 percent of fat in you diet, compared to mine chart I was about right the only problem is the fries which was about 47% but the other three were okay. What I should have done is eat more fruit and vegetables which should be about 2-5 a servings. If I got more fruits or made choices that have fewer calories in them then I would have made a healthier meal for myself.
