__________________________Quick Reference Guide

Charter School Participation Eligibility Charter Schools follow the same NCVPS guidelines as the traditional public schools. All NCVPS courses are available for charter school students to enroll under the circumstances the charter school has a someone on staff in the roles as their Distance Learning Advisor (DLA) who follows the same stipulations to meet the needs and support to student(s) enrolled.

Charter School Consultants The structure of NCVPS statewide support to the public schools (charters included) is broken out into four regions with varied counties assigned. The county in which the charter school resides determines the region in which it is assigned. An NCVPS Regional Virtual Learning Consultant (VLC) is assigned to each of the four regions. The assigned consultant also serves the charter schools within their assigned counties, serving their orientation needs, training, and overall support in the operations and procedures for how NCVPS can serve their students. The list of regional assignments is posted under “Contacts” in the DLA Spa in Blackboard. The Office of Charter Schools at the NCDPI can also assist in directing charter schools to a contact for NCVPS.
