Character Design
Character: The Conductor
The artist left this putty eraser on their drawing before the conductor emerged from the abstract charcoal drawing. This is the bulbous mass of (light blue) soft eraser putty that emerges as his head.

White conte hidden (eyes) regular blinking. Red speck of pastel hidden inside (mouth). Fluid open/close movement of his mouth.
3D strong thick strokes of charcoal by artist who did the original charcoal drawings that the conductor emerged from.
Tri-tone charcoal figure (excluding rubber head). Note the charcoal he emerges from is artist’s charcoal used on paper.
The conductor finds a piece of conte when emerging form a mass of abstract charcoal on a drawing on the floor. This shard of conte inspires him to conduct a nearby paper plane to fly around. Eventually the plane flies into the charcoal and he is destroyed. He loves conducting and will re-emerge! This is the white conte baton he found at the scene.
Low knee joints here. These fold to an edge on a hinge in movement.
Splits in charcoal throughout his body.
Left foot is an edge, counter-posed by right, hooflike base for stability.
