Chapter VI : Leadership is having the right positive attitude According to John Maxwell “Without the right positive attitude, successful leaders would not have reached their full potential”. So why do we need the right attitude? We need it because no one can succeed if we think negatively. We should believe in ourselves if we are aspiring to be a good leader because having a wrong attitude like wrong thinking and loss of self-esteem may ruin our day as well as ourselves. As a leader we should show the right attitude to our followers because it also defines the attitude that you are setting to them. We should not show them that we are losing hope like the last game that we had. As I have remembered, most of us in the bench already lose hope because our score’s team is far too behind from winning, then one of the coaches asked us why do we bend our heads and looked miserable but the game is not yet finish. I realized that leadership has lot to do with the disposition and less to do with the position. A leader’s disposition is important like what our coaches did because they influenced us the ways we think and feel, it sets us to the right atmosphere even in the last minute of our game to do our best till the end even though we are losing. In order for us to have the right attitude, we should first assess ourselves by identifying our problems in feelings, behavior and thinking. Then by committing ourselves to it, we may set a plan for it because right attitude sets right atmosphere for progress and growth. We should always remember that having the right attitude is by believing in yourselves until the end , Sometimes you win sometimes you lose but by changing your negative thinking into positive one will surely increase the probability of your success.
