Define sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. How does each affects a student with learning disabilities

• Sensory memory: "Can hold large amounts of information for a very short period of time; 2 to 3 seconds" (children 121). Students will struggle holding a lot of information at one time and remembering the information that they just heard.

• Short-term: "to remember the directions and steps for solving a math problem while simultaneously doing the calculations" (children 121). Students that struggle with short-term memory problems will not be able to remember directions and will need reminders what to do next.

• Long-term: "Stores information that we have made our own to draw on for future use" (children 121). Students will struggle with remember things that they learned and drawing connection to new things that they learned.
