What was the point of Exp 2.1, and 2.4-2.6?

Point

If you worked carefully, you found that all changes in mass that you observed were within the experimental uncertainty of your equipment.

Careful

Thus proving there was no true change in mass.

So...

From these results; in all changes, mass is equally conserved, providing nothing is added (like condensation from 2.4) and nothing escapes (Like gas from 2.6)

Results

An experimental setup in which these conditions are satisfied. The law of conservation of mass holds for closed systems. (mass is neither created or destroyed).

Closed system

Does not mean it will hold forever under all conditions. Holds to 1 part of a billion (109). When matter changes states (ice melt, salt dissolve) there is often an easy change in volume but not change in mass; thus conserved.

Still...

LOS is prescribed by legislation - break a law= punishment. LON is held by nature. You risk in admitting you believe in them, and must stand criticism and evaluation before it is recognized. If you go against LON, no punishment. If you present enough convincing data then the LON is Changed. We Rarely repel a LON, mostly we put limitations on the law.
