Internet Practical JOB AID 1. Connect the modem in your computer. 2. Install the driver software of the modem, if required. (Get the software from your instructor). 3. Configure the modem. 4. Check whether your modem is responding by using Diagnostic Test 5. Configure dial-up networking in your computer. (Get the user name, password, telephone number of the ISP from the instructor). 6. Connect your computer to Internet by using Dial-Up networking. 7. Enter the web site which is offering free email account. (Example: mail.yahoo.com or www.hotmail.com or www.rediffmail.com) 8. For creating a new email account, click the Sign In button or link of that site. If you are already having an email account skip to step 10. 9. Follow the online instructions for creating the email account. 10. Login to your email account by typing your email identity and password. 11. Check whether any email is available in your Inbox. 12. Compose a new mail and send it to one of your co-trainee. 13. Ask your co-trainees to send a mail to you. 14. Reply his mail. 15. Forward the incoming mail to some other co-trainee. 16. Delete the mail. 17. Log out from the web site. 18. Create a new email account in Outlook express. (Get the login name, POP3 server address, SMTP address from your instructor. 19. Repeat steps 12 to 16 20. Visit Sancharnet site and see the tariff for Broadband Internet Connections. 21. Check whether any personal firewall (like ZoneAlram, Sygate etc) is installed in your computer.
