POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES Interview #1: Alvin Almendral, HUMSS, BSED EN Interviewer: What are the preferred degrees of students before during and after the SHS Program? Respondent: Uhm, preferred college degree before I actually don’t have any college degree program because I don’t know what path I’m going to take but, due to a seminar that was conducted in our former junior high school I had the inclination to take up psychology as a college degree.
Interviewer: What is your preferred degree during SHS Program? Why? Respondent: Now, as I was in the SHS being a humanity student the fuel for one thing to take psychology became all the more ignited and that’s the reason.
Interviewer: What is your preferred degree after the SHS Program? Why? Respondent: So after the SHS program it is psychology but would this sort of another thing to pick out teaching because of how the teacher portray it as a very safe job. Because you wouldn’t go .. you will unemployed if ever you try to find employment at the outside world.
Interviewer: How can you relate your present program to your taken SHS Strands? Respondent: There was this view of humanity student has been vocal and socializing and sociable and somehow that image of the humanity student for me would be. It helps shape what I am now kaya it maybe more vocal, it may be a … formerly I use to be quiet but when it comes to recitation nowadays I am able to speak out my mind even if it is right or wrong and I think that’s how it affected my present program now which is teaching.
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES Interviewer: How does your SHS strand affect your current program?
Uhm, like I said before, humanities help me to be more vocal and more expressive. In my current program which is teaching it requires socializing with students, understanding them and creating plans according to their .. according to what they need to learn. And that edge in the humanities na we can speak more, we can socialize more probably gives us the edge of being a great teacher.
Interviewer: How does it help your current program? Respondent: Okay, as I concur with my last statement, it helps in that I can Oh, there is there is this thing that is very vital the humanities course that we are learning to see things in neutral not taking sides before judgement you should considered the following factors. In my opinion, if ever if ever I teach a classroom if ever there is a need to do it I’ll try to think, I’ll try to understand his side more and be more patient with him and be persevere in knowing what is the reason that he was doing this sort of thing or and that I think will helps in my current program as I take on the students and as I take on my professors who are that could be lazy and somewhat are industrious.
Interviewer: Does the SHS Program make your studies easier? Will say that I wouldn’t say yes and I wouldn’t say no. basically it’s probably neutral because it has its pros and it has its cons as I view I think the pros is that it helps us learn a bit more about what we’re going to take, what are the lessons that we are going to face in college but it also has the false promise that the units that we will take in our SHS program will be taken into consideration in our college degree if ever there was.

So ngayon I was taking up bachelor of
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES secondary education major in English so yung mga major ko ngayon nagging subject ko rin sya marerelate ko siya kasi naa-apply ko yung knowledge ko doon sa subject ko before na ngayon ay major ko.

Respondent: It affects me so well kase I was in techvoc course na kung saan more in applying skills appliance in which I can use after my SHS na pwede akong magtrabaho after that. So nakapagdefense kami at naranasan naming bumagsak at umulit ng research and dahil don napaka-establish nung
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES ano naming na ah okay mas madali lang pala gumawa kung alam mo talaga yung gagawin mo yun yung edge naming. In the other side naman siguro nagkaroon lang ako ng conflict between my strand and my course today. So yun nga computer tapos naging English major naging linguistics napakalayo pero ano hanggang ngayon diba which is college sa ibang estudyante dito na nangangailangan ng ganong tulong. So yun.

Mas natuto akong maging uhm magkaroon ng authority sa magiging future student ko and also since I studied social sciences sa humss nagkaroon ako ng konting background on how society works and as a teacher ano dapat ang maging role ko sa society na kinapapalooban ko.
Interviewer: Does the SHS Program make your studies easier? Respondent: Hmm yes even though na sabi ng nakararami na naging sayang lang po yung two years, I think it helped me in a way na although not directly na yung ibang subject ay tinitake pa rin namin ngayon it did help us in a way na yung research is kunwari yung research natuto akong gumawa ng research papers uhmm defense natuto kaming magdefense and such although hindi sya siguro yung mismong general education na strand na subjects naitulong nakatulong pa rin sya magbuild samin ng character and such.

Interviewer: Does the SHS Program make your studies easier?

Interviewer: Does the SHS Program make your studies easier?
