disk to ensure that files are optimised such that each is stored continuously across the disk surfaces and not fragmented Run Scandisk regularly to check the condition of your hard disk and if necessary make repairs Use windows task manager to stop unresponding programs Automatic schedule task to check your disk for error Contact a vendor if there is bad sector
Don’t • Always run Scandisk with the option to scan the disk surface for errors • Terminate Scandisk prematurely when your PC did not shutdown properly • Switch off your PC while defragment is in progress • Switch off your PC while Scandisk is running • Simply copy a files without knowing the folder contents
