Clare Glens Race Application To Race Introduction This is a trial application form so please do not be offended by the questions! The form is designed to allow your team show that you are qualified to race. Please return race application forms with all fields fully completed in pdf format to [email protected] or by post to Clare Glens Race Office, 92 The Meadows, Murroe, Co. Limerick by November 30th2009. Section 1: General Kayaking Experience Summary Describe each paddlers general kayaking background or experience (disciplines, trips, instruction, qualifications etc.). Section 2: Irish Kayaking Experience 

Each team member must have kayaked on 4 no. Irish Class 4+ rivers as described in on www.irishwhitewater.com i.e. Middle Flesk, Upper Roughty, Dargle, Glenmacnass

Section 3: International Kayaking Experience 

Each team member must have kayaked on 4 no. International Class 4+ rivers

Section 4: Clare Glens Kayaking Experience 

Two members of the team must have kayaked on the Glens at least 2 times prior to the race day

Section 5: Signature of ICU Level 4 Coach  

All paddlers on the team must be endorsed by an ICU Level 4 Coach Does not need to be the same coach for each paddler, Level 4 coachs are allowed to sign off on themselves and team mates.

Two paddlers on the team must hold current first aid (REC3 or equivalent) and river rescue (RSR 2 or equivalent) qualifications.

Notes: 1. For info on the race visit clareglensrace.blogspot.com 2. Teams of three with one person nominated as captain 3. All communication from the race organisers will be to the team captain 4. Paddlers must be 18 yrs or over 5. Teams can be mixed boy/girls 6. In general, participants in the race will be responsible for their own safety 7. All paddlers in the team must meet the requirement set out below 8. Rules and format are subject to change at event organisers discretion 9.
