Clare Glens Race Application Introduction. To The Form The Clare Glens Race is dangerous (just ask the racers from last year who ended up behind the curtain on Big Eas!) There are real risks and we want to ensure our competitors are experienced enough to race in safety. We also want as many people as possible to race. This is a trial application form, please do not be offended by the questions! The form is designed to allow you the paddler to show to us the race organisers that you are capable of racing. It is by no means exhaustive and we feel it is fair. Now, fill out the form honestly! All qualified teams will be drawn out of a hat, three teams will be chosen to race. Best of Luck! Notes: 1. Teams of three 2. Paddlers must be 18 yrs or over 3. Teams can be mixed boy/girls 4. Teams Responsible for their own safety 5. In general, Participants will be responsible for their own safety 6. All paddlers in the team must meet the requirement set out below 7. Rules and format are subject to change are subject to change at event organisers discretion 8. Paddlers will obey the instructions of race officials Section 1: General Kayaking Experience ●

Each paddler must have 5yrs expeience of whitewater paddling

Paddler 1 (Captain): Paddler 2: Paddler 3: All Requirements filled (Office Only)

Section 2: Irish Kayaking Experience ●

Each team member must have kayaked on 4no. Irish class 4/5 rivers

Section 3: International Kayaking Experience ●

Each team member must have kayaked on 4no. International class 4/5 rivers

Section 4: Clare Glens Kayaking Experience ●

Two members of the team must have kayaked on the Glens at least 2 times prior to the race day

Section 5: Signature of ICU Level 4 Coach ●

All paddlers on the team must be endorsed by an ICU Level 4 Coach (Does not need to be the same coach for each paddler, Levle Coach are alowed to sign off on themselves and team mates)
