Scotland!?! Yes! The Central Heights High School Theatre Department been selected to perform in the world's largest and most prestigious arts festival as part of the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF). Each August, Edinburgh, Scotland becomes the most magical and exciting place on earth as performing artists from all over the world come to Scotland to take part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Fringe Festival includes over 1,800 different performances of music, theatre, dance, and comedy during the three-week run. Central Heights High School's performance will be showcased at the AHSTF venue in Edinburgh.
About Us
The Central Heights Theatre Department is under the direction of Melissa McMillian-Cunningham who has been directing at Central Heights for a total of twenty-one years. The Theatre Department has qualified for U.I.L. Area fifteen times, Regional eight times, and State twice.
What is the AHSTF?
The American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) was developed to help the development of High School and College drama professionals. The festival is designed to complement high school drama programs and allow our nation’s drama students to showcase their skill internationally.
