Ordinary Portland cement ASTM C 150 TYPE I Portland cement is known as common or general purpose cement. It is generally assumed unless another type is specified. It is commonly used for general construction especially when making precast and precast-prestressed prestressed concrete that is not to be in contact with soils or ground water. r. The typical compound compositions of this type are: 55% (C3S), 19% (C2S), 10% (C3A), 7% (C4AF), 2.8% MgO, 2.9% (SO3), 1.0% Ignition loss,, and 1.0% free CaO. A limitation on the composition is that the (C3A) shall not exceed fifteen percent percent. Grades available with us are OPC 42.5 N / R and OPC 52.5. Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC) ASTM C150 TYPE V

SRC RC or ASTM C150 TYPE V is used where sulfate resistance is important. Its typical t compound composition is: 38% (C3S), 43% (C2S), 4% (C3A), 9% (C4AF), 1.9% MgO, 1.8% (SO3), 0.9% Ignition loss, and 0.8% free CaO. This cement has a very low (C3A) composition which accounts for its high sulfate resistance. The maximum content of (C3A)) allowed is five percent for Type V Portland cement. Another limitation is that the (C4AF) + 2 (C3A) compositions cannot exceed twenty percent. This type is used in concrete that is to be exposed to alkali soil and ground water sulfates which react with (C3A) causing disruptive expansion. It is unavailable in many places although its use is common in the western United States and Canada. As with Type IV, Type V Portland cement has mainly been supplanted by the use of ordinary cement with added ground granulated blast furnace slag or tertiary blended cements containing slag and fly ash.

Transportation from Factory to port and borders Cement in bags Bagged cement, in the first stage of export, is loaded on trucks and Lorries from cement mill to transport it to Karachi sea port for the export through sea while for the export through land route to India, Afghanistan it is transported to certain points. Details are below: Export of bagged cement through Karachi seaports Karachi has two sea ports, actively participating into export of cement from Pakistan. Th These are Port of Karachi (KPT) and Port Qasim. From cement mill the cement is transported to our warehouses located at both seaports of Karachi in trucks and Lorries. Cement is inspected by first class international inspection companies like SGS Pakistani ((Pvt.) Ltd. After the satisfactory inspection of the cement, it is loaded into 20 ft’ heavy duty containers and containers are sent to seaport premises for customer clearance and upon completion of documentation the containers are placed at the Container Yard Yard at seaport, waiting for the ship carry them via sea routes to the desired foreign destinations as per requirement of the customers. Export of Bagged cement through Wahga Border for India Cement is transported through trucks and Lorries to Lahore Railway Station where we have our warehouse to store the cement till the railway provided the wagons to load the cement and then cement is transported to Wahga border where customer clearance is conducted and the cargo is forwarded to Amritsar Railway Station. The terminal has the capacity of handling 10 to 12 thousand tons of cement per day. The terminal is constructed by Lucky Cement Limited. Lucky Lucky Cement Limited has successfully started operation of export oriented loose cement storage and ship loading terminal at Berth -25 West Wharf, Karachi Port. This is the state of the art project based on latest technology from Europe and first of its kind in n the South East Asia and Middle East Region. The loose cement is first loaded / pumped into the storage silo(s) as buffer stock at port through compressors from the Bulkers (Specialized Cement transport trucks) bringing loose cement from the cement manufacturing acturing plant of the company located at main Super Highway Gadap Town, Karachi approx 90 Kms from the Karachi Port. On arrival of ships, the loose cement is pumped directly into sea going vessels from storage facility through complete automatic machinery operated through PLC from the Central Control Room. The total storage capacity of this terminal is 24,000 tons of loose cement which is divided into 4 Nos. steel fabricated silos with individual storage capacity of 6,000 tons each. The loading capacity of this terminal is 10,000 to 12,000 tons per day of loose cement depending upon the size and construction of vessel(s).
