IMPORTANTE Cuando el cautín está activado, la temperatura de la punta es alta (entre 200º y 480º). Tome en cuenta las siguientes advertencias para evitar quemaduras o incendios. - Si el cordón de alimentación está dañado, éste debe ser reemplazado por el fabricante o su agente de servicio o por personal calificado para evitar el riesgo. - No intente abrir el equipo, puede ocasionar mal funcionamiento y se anulará la garantía. - Asegúrese de que la punta caliente no toque superficies inflamables, su cuerpo o el cable de energía. -No utilizar la punta del cautín como desarmador u otra actividad que no sea la propia. - No use ni almacene este equipo en lugares donde existan goteras o salpicaduras de agua. Puede causar un mal funcionamiento o un choque eléctrico. - No utilice el cautín cerca de materiales combustibles. - Tome con seriedad el cautín en su área de trabajo, ya que el cautín alcanza temperaturas altas que pueden provocar serios daños. - No sacudir el cautín para quitar el excedente de soldadura de la punta. - Mantenga el equipo fuera del alcance de los niños. - Para la instalación de piezas de repuesto o accesorios, primero desconecte el CAU-260 de la alimentación y espere a que la punta se enfríe a temperatura ambiente. - Siempre apague el cautín cuando deje de usarlo. - No opere la unidad con las manos mojadas. - Use el cautín en un área ventilada y evite inhalar el humo de la soldadura, ya que contiene plomo que va directo a los pulmones.

ATENCIÓN Este aparato está destinado para ser utilizado por personas con capacidades diferentes. No es un aparato apto para menores, los niños deben supervisarse. Este producto sólo puede ser alimentado a 120 V ~ con el adaptador incluido (si aplica). Si el producto incluye adaptador de voltaje, no utilice uno diferente al incluido en este producto.

1. CARACTERÍSTICAS

El cautín de lápiz tipo estación tiene control electrónico de temperatura que permite ajustarla en un rango de 200 a 480 °C, con propiedad antiestática que evita que se dañen los circuitos al momento de soldar. Ideal para circuitos de montaje superficial (SMD), incorpora luz indicadora de calentamiento, control rotatorio de ajuste de temperatura, interruptor de encendido general y salida de tierra antiestática. Tiene base para cautín con esponja para limpieza de punta. Perfecto para talleres de reparaciones de equipos electrónicos y hoobistas.

2. INSTRUCCIONES 2.1 Modo de uso del soporte del cautín Antes de usar el CAU-260 prepare la esponja de la base, le será útil para limpiar la punta del soldador en caso de que aplique demasiada soldadura, de este modo removerá los excesos evitando daños en la punta. 1. Humedezca la esponja de limpieza y luego exprímala hasta quitar el exceso de humedad. 2. Agregue un poco de agua sobre la base del soporte para que la esponja se mantenga húmeda. 3. Finalmente coloque la esponja sobre la base del soporte del cautín. SOPORTE DEL CAUTÍN

2.2 Conexiones Para evitar daños, asegúrese de apagar el interruptor de encendido/apagado antes de conectar o desconectar el soldador. 1. Conecte el cable del soldador al CAU-260 y cerciórese de que el seguro que sostiene el conector esté firmemente apretado. 2. Coloque el soldador en su soporte. 3. Conecte el cable de alimentación del cautín a un tomacorriente.

2.3 Encender el cautín 1. Gire la perilla en dirección de las manecillas del reloj para seleccionar la temperatura necesaria. 2. Presione el interruptor de encendido, cuando el LED se encienda y apague repetidamente, indica que el soldador ha alcanzado la temperatura seleccionada y la punta está lista para soldar.

El soldador debe ser colocado en el soporte de hierro cuando no esté en uso.

2.4 Modo de uso Usar el tipo equivocado de soldadura podría dañar el aparato a soldar. 1. Para asegurar una buena conexión de soldado, limpie la superficie que va a unir. 2. Cuando la punta esté caliente, aplique cuidadosamente una capa ligera de soldadura nueva en la punta. (Si aplica demasiada soldadura, limpie la punta con la esponja húmeda para retirar el exceso). 3. Aplique la soldadura con la punta del cautín sobre las conexiones a unir. La soldadura se derretirá contra el objeto.

3. MANTENIMIENTO DE LA PUNTA 3.1 Limpieza de la punta Limpiar regularmente la punta con una esponja húmeda ayuda a evitar que ésta se oxide o cubra de impurezas. Las impurezas reducen la conductividad del calor por lo que afectan el proceso de soldado. 1. Ajuste el cautín a una temperatura de 250 ºC. 2. Cuando el cautín alcance la temperatura (el LED parpadeará), limpie la punta del soldador con la esponja húmeda y revise su estado. 3. Si la punta se torna oxidada (de color negro), aplique soldadura nueva sobre la parte desgastada y posteriormente limpie con la esponja húmeda. Repita este proceso hasta remover el óxido. 4. Si la punta está deformada o destruida, reemplácela por una nueva.

3.2 Cambio de punta 1. Cuando la punta se desgaste, apague y desconecte el cautín, deje que se enfríe a temperatura ambiente. 2. Desatornille la tuerca (1). 3. Retire la tuerca (1) y la pieza de acero (2). 4. Cambie la punta (3) y rearme el cautín.

4. CALIBRACIÓN DE LA TEMPERATURA Después de cambiar la punta del soldador es necesario recalibrar el CAU-260, siga los siguientes pasos para obtener la temperatura correcta. 1. Conecte el cable del soldador al CAU-260. 2. Ajuste el cautín a una temperatura de 400 ºC. 3. Presione el interruptor de encendido y espere a que la temperatura se estabilice. 4. Coloque un termómetro en la punta del soldador, en el cautín introduzca un desarmador plano en el orificio marcado como CAL y gire el tornillo (hasta que el termómetro marque 400ºC) hacia la derecha para aumentar y hacia la izquierda para reducir la temperatura.

Thank You on purchasing your new Steren product. This manual includes all the feature operations and troubleshooting necessary to install and operate your new Steren´s Professional soldering station. IMPORTANT When the power is on, the trip temperature is between 200° to 480 °C. - If power cord has been damaged, contact your nearest dealer for a replacement. - Do not try to open the device, may cause damages and warranty will be void. - Do not touch the metallic parts near the tip. - Do not use or store the equipment near wet places. May cause malfunction or shock hazard. - Do not use the product near flammable items. - Advise other people in the work area: the unit can reach a very high temperature and should be considered potentially dangerous. - Keep device out of the reach of children. - Turn the power off while taking breaks and when finished using the unit. - Before replacing parts or storing the unit, turn the power off and allow the unit to cool down to room temperature. - Do not use the unit when your hands are wet. - Soldering process will produce smoke, make sure that the area is very well ventilated.

1. HIGHLIGHTS The soldering station has electronic temperature control, allowing set in the range of 200 to 480 °C; it features anti-static properties to avoid damages in the circuits. Perfect to use it with SMD circuits, it has heating indicator light, temperature control knob, general on / off switch, and grounded anti-static output. 2. INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 How to use the iron holder Before using the unit, damped the sponge with weather and squeezed it dry. Failure to do so may result in damage to the soldering tip. 1. Dampen the small cleaning sponge with water and then squeeze it dry. 2. Add water in the iron holder base and the small sponge will absorb it to keep the larger sponge above it wet at all times. 3. Finally, place the sponge in the iron holder base. IRON HOLDER

2.2 Connections To avoid damages be sure to turn off the power switch before connection or disconnecting the soldering iron. 1. Connect the cord assembly plug to the receptacle in the station, and adjust the secure knob. 2. Place the soldering iron in the iron holder. 3. Plug the power cord into the power supply.

2.3 Turn on the power switch 1. Set the temperature control knob to the desired temperature. 2. Turn on the power switch, the LED will blink on and off when the tip temperature reaches the set temperature. The tip is now ready to perform soldering work.

The soldering iron must be placed in the iron holder when not in use.

2.4 How to use If you use a wrong type of solder you could damage the device to be soldered. 1. Clean the surface where you’ll make unions.

2. When the temperature stabilizes, apply new solder to the tip. 3. Apply the solder using the tip on the connections that you want to join. The solder will melt on the object.

3. MAINTENANCE 3.1 Cleaning the tip Clean the tip regularly with a cleaning sponge, as oxides and carbides from the solder and flux can form impurities on the tip, these impurities can result in defective joints or reduce the tip´s heat conductivity. 1. Set the temperature to 250 ºC. 2. When the temperature stabilizes, clean the tip with the cleaning sponge and check the condition of the trip. 3. If there is black oxide on the solder-plated portion of the trip, apply new solder and wipe the tip on the cleaning sponge. Repeat until the oxide is completely removed. 4. If the tip is deformed or heavily eroded, replace it with a new one.

3.2 Changing the tip 1. When the tip is deformed or damage, turn off and unplug the CAU-260, then, allow the unit to cool down to room temperature. 2. Unscrew the nut (1). 3. Remove the nut (1) and the part (2). 4. Change the tip (3) and assemble the soldering iron.

4. CALIBRATING THE IRON TEMPERATURE The soldering iron should be recalibrated after changing the iron, or replacing the heating element or tip. 1. Connect the cord assembly plug to the receptacle on the station. 2. Set the temperature control knob to 400 ºC. 3. Turn the power switch to “ON” and wait until the temperature stabilizes. 4. When the temperature stabilizes, use a straightedge (-) screwdriver or small phillips (+) screwdriver to adjust the screw (marked CAL at the station) until the tip thermometer indicates a temperature of 400 ºC. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the temperature and counterclockwise to reduce the temperature.
