The CantYetaTM Projector
The Image you Imagined
Any Frame rate, Any Resolution, Any Size, Any Brightness…. Finally, what you’ve been waiting for in a production display device. We looked at what had been done in display technology since it’s beginnings in developing the ultimate solution. Cave dweller rock paintings held great promise, but lacked frame rates high enough to sustain persistence of vision. They were pretty low in bit depth and resolution. And they were hard to move around, too. Oil paintings, tapestries, sand paintings…all had their day in the sun… and they faded. Film and Photography finally defined how we should witness imagery….. In our projector development we listened to everyone and ignored things that would be regarded as relying on technology or being a better way and instead concentrated on all the wonderful features we remembered of the original moving displays…the simplicity of projected light on a screen. And we said,”Can we improve on the simplicity of that original system, and still make a product? How can we sell that image we see in our mind?” A new display system has been developed that is the perfect companion for the new cameras and imaging systems that are on the horizon. The CantYetaTM incorporates every possible feature that today’s filmmakers have requested. Our DSPs let’s us enable your imagination. You can even choose what you want your CantYetaTM to sound like when it’s playing back your favorite movie. Even projector idler jam or film breaking can be included during playback. Ah, the sounds of our youth… Resolution, brightness, frame rate, colorimetry, and portability have finally all been addressed. Screen size and shape is totally variable based on the lens, light source, and display technology that you select. You can even on the fly change the aspect ratio of what you are watching..Without losing anything. It just takes our optional RealityCreatorTM*module and all you need is a newspaper or Polaroids from wardrobe and you are making the movie.* some outboard equipment is required for connection and buffering for the four required customer supplied Cray MP Supercomputers. This may affect portability considerations as well as battery choices. Not recommended for handheld applications.

Finally, a manufacturer that listens. CantYetaTM is display device and resolution independent. You, the buyer, determines the resolution and display type that you want. Display Technology If you like Texas InstrumentsTM’ DMDs,SonyTM PALC, or LCD is your wish, no problem. Hughes/JVC TM DILA is a fine candidate as well for the discerning user. For those truly retro, an EidaphorTM emulation mode complete with eyebrow is available. Actually, any current core display technology as well as all yet to be invented ones, are exciting possibilities for CantYetaTM. You are limited only by your imagination in imagining how awesome this display really is. Light Source The CantYetaTM can use any light source as the projection lamp. Arc Lamps, KenoFlosTM, LEDs, MaglightsTM, 40 watt yellow bug lights, even candles are all candidates. Matches or reflected sunlight can also be utilized in the MiniCantYetaTM. Whatever you select is what you can have. Lenses The unit uses any lens for projection; just a few include C mount, PL, and B4, with the right adaptor of course. So you can actually use the same lens you shot the scene with to view the scene. Talk about elimination of variables when viewing your dailies….And with the CantYetaTM*,for that shot yesterday when the star got buzzed a bit, well relax, you can refocus the shot when your watching it played back today….What a production tool!…*if equipped with our refocusing engine SharpReShooterTM some outboard equipment is required for connection and buffering for the four required customer supplied Cray MP Supercomputers. This may affect portability considerations as well as battery choices. Not recommended for handheld applications.
Through the lens viewing Thru the lens viewing is an option, though for safety you must use a dimmable light source, (or really strong sunglasses). Also, a special option* frees the user from actually having to have a dark tent or theater to use the CantYetaTM. It is the BlackHoleTM option that will actually remove extraneous light from the display environment. And yes, BlackHoleTM will also be available for purchase separately for use as a production lighting tool. *Some outboard equipment is required. Requires Class 1 Radiation Level monitoring systems to be in place.

3/6/2009 1:31 A3/P3 Variable Speed We know variable playback speeds can be an issue. Not with the CantyetaTM HumanCrankTM option. Any human crank able speed can be viewed both forwards and backwards with automatic pitch correction commands sent to the SoonSomedayTM companion audio playback device. There are discussions about in the future to offer a motorized crank option. We are looking at this carefully as the ramifications could be significant i.e. Loss of manpower at the display site, (no hand cranker), and the long playback times that could be expected may cause problems. We will listen to our users. Colorimetry Many have asked for LUT conformity. We offer both hardware and software solutions…. Our companion hardware product, ColoredGlassesTM, allows your audience to witness your project the way you intended. Our DgradeTM software option allows you to introduce features required for the suspension of disbelief in certain viewers i.e. Grain of any size and type required, and or Weave,Judder, Voids, and Blemishes. Vignette and Lens Distortion plugins available soon. And New ..Make your own noise…Software to generate your own image degradation… *(Additional Blemish and Grain libraries are available first quarter 2008, Blemishes, Weave, and Judder to follow up in spring 2009).
Performance And if you feel, like many do, that electronics will never communicate your original vision, you can get the mechanically oriented emulsion playback option MoeTM** and the DArcliteTM option, which allows playback of film ***from 8mm all the way up to 70mm. **(not compatible with CantyetaTM HumanCrankTM option). ***With suitable adapter Of course, we support those electronic formats and rates from NTSC, PAL, SECAM, 4:2:2, 4:4:4 all the way to 128bit 64:64:64 or where ever it gets to. These signals normally require a physical connection between the CantYetaTM and the camera or tape machine/disk/mac/playback source or where ever it goes to. Standard connectors will be BNC, Fiber Optic, and ½” cooling systems. Optional connectors will be many but immediately will include direct connectivity with the SonyTM 950T head via the multipin connector. And of course we will want to be the display of choice when viewing KinettaTM originated material. 3 of 5
3/6/2009 1:31 A3/P3 Total freedom…. A WiFi option allows the direct viewing of any format or frame rate wirelessly. This allows incredible freedom from cables* on the set. *There may, however, be a bunch on the camera running to the transmitter. And a bunch running from the receiver to the CantYeta TM Actually, it depends on how many cables you want, and if you don’t want any, well… Our ultra portable unit, the NeverLANTM can actually derive power from the received wireless data from a TBA Camera TM with the 2/3 inch TBA TM 1GigaPixel Sensor. NeverLANTM can be used anywhere. No wires, no batteries. Total Creative Freedom Power Systems CantYetaTM has several power options. It can be powered from AC power, (220-221VAC), and 2-47 VDC. The batteries normally required are car, lithium polymer or AA. We are examining more green alternatives for power such as dilithium crystals, methane gas, wind, and flux capacitor. We are quickly developing companion power generation products, such as our portable 12 megawatt ShowMeTesla TM Power Generator, as well as nuclear, diesel, coal and cold fusion solutions. Our portable fuel cell program has generated intense interest in the industry. The power requirements can become quite sizable when CantYetaTM is used in those Olympic sized venues with 800’ diagonal images and 200 million ansi lumen outputs. CantYetaTM The only limit of what you can’t see with a CantYetaTM is your imagination, your visual acuity, and your pocketbook. There are limitations, of course, dependant on the display device technology, lamp source, and packaging, vehicle, and or containment vessle that you select, but your staff of physicists, as well as optical, electronic, and mechanical engineers, will be able to discern the most appropriate path. We offer engineering development services for those clients that just want a CantYetaTM right now.
