Saint Luke: Bull He wrote a comprehensive account of our Lord’s mission and salvation for mankind. His message was aimed to the Gentiles. He was a physician. He also wrote the book of Acts.
Saint Mark: Lion He wrote a brief summary to the churches he established. His message was concise about the life and works of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was also the apostle that established the church in Egypt.

Have you taken your Vaccinations? Vaccinations Vaccinations protect us from the diseases of the world. In the same way we can protect ourselves by: Prayer Listening to Sermons Attending Church Reading the Bible Attending Youth Meeting Church Activities Fasting Keeping Good Friends “Pray firstly to be purified of passions, secondly to be freed from ignorance and forgetfulness, and thirdly to be delivered from all temptation and forsaking.’” St Nilus of Mount Sinai
Prescriptions Prescriptions are God’s order for the preparation and administration of laws for all. The remedy can be prescribed and given in various forms to treat any sin or problem we face as Christians. This can be received through: A Spiritual Guide Attending youth meetings Confession Father
Reading Spiritual Books Reading the Bible
Medicine Medicine is taken to heal the sick from diseases (which are our sins). Forms of medicine include: Reading the Bible Absolution Seeking Spiritual Advice Fasting Being Amongst Good Company Prayer “Inasmuch as we have not yet come to perfection, so as to be entirely delivered from the captivity of passions, it is better to occupy ourselves with medicine than with passions. But we should place our hope not in medicines but in God, Who kills and brings to life and says: "I will strike and I will heal" (Deuteronomy 32:39).” Saints Barsanuphius & John

Have You Got Your Visas? When we travel overseas we must have visas or permission to enter other countries. In the same way, “Christian” visas are required if we are to be allowed into Heaven. These are:
Baptism Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
Confirmation (Chrismation) But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. (1 John 2:20) And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them. (Acts 19:6)
Holy Communion Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:54)
Repentance and Confession If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Have You Packed Your Bag? Make sure you have your medications with you; the nine fruits of the Spirit, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22, 23.)
Faith & Deeds Faith and deeds, both are needed one will not help you a lot in the journey. “What does it profit my brethren if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? …. Thus faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:14, 17)
Clothing/Toiletries Prayers and fasting protecting you in different weather. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11)
Itinerary “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Money “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in My house, and prove me now in this” (Malachi 3:10)

Workshop 1 When we travel, we always know our destination. We take specific vaccinations to protect us from any harm. We prepare suitable clothing and amenities to take with us on our trip. We are prepared to pay what’s needed for our visa to make sure we come back safely. When we are on our spiritual journey, we need to make sure that we are prepared and have packed with us our spiritual necessities. These include the spiritual talents we’ve developed, spiritual garments which are our good deeds and our spiritual vaccinations. When travelling overseas, it’s vital to be able to communicate with the natives of the country. In the same way, we need to be able to communicate with others in the language of Christ. When travelling on your spiritual journey, you need the following: Vaccination... Is the protection we receive in our journey How can we protect ourselves in our spiritual journey? What type of precautions can we take? What are some of your spiritual vaccines? Preparing your luggage Do you know where you’re going? What is the baggage you carry? (sins, bad habits, etc). Did you pack the armour of Christ? How do you prepare for your journey? (essentials and practical things) Is what you have packed enough? (Are you doing enough services in the church?) Have you packed you talents with you? Visa Have you packed your passport to heaven? (Baptism). Do you have a one way ticket to a direct flight? Or do you have a return ticket with stopovers for the world and it’s lustful desires? Extras What is the language of Christ? Do you know how to speak the language of Christ? Have you packed your spiritual currency (faith, good deeds, love etc).

Happy is the Christian who studies and follows the teaching of Christ. He is happy in this temporary life and in the life after death. Yes, he will be happy after death, because the soul does not vanish after death, is not perishable like the body, but continues to live, to exist. Through death, it is simply separated from the perishable body.

God Has Not Promised God has not promised skies always blue Flower strewn pathways, all our lives through; God has not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God has promised strength for the day, Rest for the labour, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing kindness, undying love. God has not promised we shall not know Toil and temptations, trouble and woe; He has not told us we shall not bear Many a burden, many a care. But God has promised strength for the day, Rest for the labour, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing kindness, undying love. God has not promised smooth roads and wide, Swift, easy travel, needing no guide; Never a mountain, rocky and steep, Never a river turbid and deep. But God has promised strength for the day, Rest for the labour, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing kindness, undying love. by Annie Johnson Flint

Footprints One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that at the worst times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?" The Lord replied "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of suffering and when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." Are we There Yet...

The Difference I got up early one morning, and rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish, that I didn't have time to pray, Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task. "Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask." I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak; I wondered why God didn't show me. He said," But you didn't seek." I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, "My child you didn't knock." I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day I had so much to accomplish, that I had to take time to pray.

Workshop 2 On every journey we encounter life’s mishaps and we learn to deal with whatever is thrown at us. On our spiritual journey we intend to do the same and use our own wisdom and discernment to achieve our main goal, which is heaven. Christ described a very real parable about the journey towards the Kingdom of Heaven. The following parable is about the four seeds and the journeys they took. (Matthew 13:3-8) 3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Refer to Handout You need to act out a journey that follows the life of this seed.

We were created for eternal life by our Creator, we are called to it by the word of God, and we are renewed by holy Baptism. And Christ the Son of God came into the world for this, that He should call us and take us there. For this reason your very first endeavour and care should be to receive it. Without it everything is as nothing, though you have the whole world under you.
I reach out for your hand today Lord, so I can walk with You into the future You have for

The Narrow Road There's a road that we must travel, To reach that promised land... It is a straight and narrow way, Guided by God's own loving hand. It leads through hills and valleys, Over streams and desert's heat... Through stormy days, and sunshine, But never hate or deceit! We may struggle through some potholes, That snag us on our way, But we learn patience and endurance, Which holds our enemies at bay! Jesus' way is truth and honor! He brings great comfort to His own... He leads each yearning heart, Straight to God's majestic throne! The warmth of God's Holy Son, Will heal every grief and woe... And we will spread the Good News, Everywhere we go! Wear truth as your mantle, Walk that straight and narrow way! And you will find life everlasting, For which all Christians pray! Wake up, O weary traveler! Grab hold of Jesus' hand! And journey on toward heaven, The sought for promised land. Hear the angels rejoicing, As we enter heaven’s door... To live with Christ forever, Who could ask for anything more?
We’re There...
