Part 1 tips • practise giving information about yourself • give a few details as well as general information • give short answers, but be prepared to extend them • don’t memorise answers about yourself – this will sound unnatural. Part 2 tips
remember that the first task in Part 2 helps you to become familiar with the pictures
remember that the second task in Part 2 has a different focus from the first task – it’s usually more abstract
if you can’t remember all the instructions, check with the other candidate or the interlocutor
listen carefully and link what you say to what the other candidate says
discuss all the pictures in some detail before you try to reach a decision.
Part 3 tips • in the 2-minute talk, make sure you discuss the question on the card • use the words on the card if you feel they will help you organise your ideas • try to speak for the full time given in each part of the test • give detailed examples, as well as expressing general ideas • practise giving 2-minute talks on a range of topics
