VELENOSI WINEMAKER Velenosi farm was established in 1984, thanks to the will of two young entrepreneurs, Angela and Ercole Velenosi. They have been operating in the wine sector for just a couple of decades, but their passion has allowed them to rapidly learn and improve their growing and wine-making techniques, create a winery with state-of-the-art and advanced equipment and produce excellent wines. Since 2005 a new partner joined the company: Paolo Garbini, from this moment the company became the Velenosi S.r.l. WINEYARD The company is based in Ascoli Piceno, a city rich in history in the Marche Region, in central Italy, 25 km away from the Adriatic sea at 150-200 metres above seal level. The soil in the area is generally clayey and fertile. In addition to four farms in the province of Ascoli Piceno, i.e. Castorano, Monsampolo and Castel di Lama, the company also owns some vineyards in Ancarano, in the province of Teramo and a new one in Jesi. A new vine will be planted this year. Its features will reflect those of the original vineyards, i.e. thickness of plants: 6,000-9,000 / hectare. The 105-hectaer farm has been planted with many varieties such as: Verdicchio, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, Malvasia, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, Muller Thurgau, Verdicchio, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Schiraz and Petit Verdot PRODUCTION Attilio Pagli is our wine-making consultant and the current production amounts to 1.000.000 bottles /year, including six D.O.C. and three IGT wines with geographic indication: Rosso Piceno doc,BRECCIAROLO Rosso Piceno Superiore doc, ROGGIO DEL FILARE Rosso Piceno Superiore doc, LUDI Rosso marche Igt and MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO doc. The white wines are: VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI doc, BRECCIAROLO Falerio doc, VIGNA SOLARIA Falerio doc selection, LINAGRE Bianco marche Igt, VILLA ANGELA Chardonnay marche Igt, REVE DI VILLA ANGELA Chardonnay Selezione; we also produce VELENOSI BRUT champenoise and BRUT ROSE.
