Who are we? LATITUDES magazine is a youth oriented publication about international affairs analysis and journalism. It serves as a convergent project in a cybernetic platform (www.revistalatitudes.wordpress.com) in order to bring a wide investigation on current subjects in the political sphere. LATITUDES offers a voluntary internship for political sciences and journalism students to get the practice they need to achieve a well-rounded conscience on foreign policy; and, with the help of professors in both areas it elevates the experience to the maximum on investigative journalism and interpretative reporting.

Why we exist? More than news...the analysis you need

LATITUDES improves the way news and information is delivered to Puerto Rico because our Island’s media suffers from insularism. They only cover what’s happening here, inside. It is true that with the economic crisis the newsrooms are shrinking and saving money instead of paying the luxury of having correspondents worldwide. But, that’s what our magazine brings new to the table.

QUICK FACTS •• LATITUDES was founded on September 6, 2009 by Natalia Bonilla Berríos. •• It´s first issue came out on September 30, 2009. •• It’s a Spanish monthly publication with an English world report special, starting on November 2009. •• Our focus is investigative journalism and interpretative reporting. •• We offer practice to journalism and political science students from Puerto Rico or Hispanic students across the globe. •• LATITUDES is copyrighted 2009 by the Bonilla Foundation and it’s International Reporting Initiative. •• Our webpage is www.revistalatitudes.wordpress.com

Our Target Audience Our geographic community is basically Hispanic students from Puerto Rico, United States, Spain and Latino America ranging from 18 to 25 years, soon to be professionals who will determine our nation’s curse and it’s path in the world. We feel responsibly obligated to offer these generations the context and news they need in order to understand globalization and be aware of our government and other’s countries government’s policies.
