WORKSHOP
20 MAY 2009
FULFILLING CAPABILITY GAPS IN DEFENCE ROBOTICS The world of Military Robotics is expanding dramatically. With growing demand and popularity of unmanned ground systems, the community is struggling to keep up with technology and system integration. Research and development cannot keep up with the expanding military requirements. As such capability gaps between military requirements and what can be offered by industry and academia are starting to show. This workshop takes into account Previous NATO workshops on Multi-Robot Systems and aims to provide the participants with a clear understanding of what is achievable in both the short and long term. So that priorities and aims can be realistically set. How you will benefit from attending: Understand the military operational challenges: What exactly do they need from unmanned systems? Comprehend what technological solutions are practical Acquire knowledge on which capability gaps require priority solutions Adjust your own priorities within unmanned systems so you can most efficiently fill capability gaps
CALL: +44 (0)20 7368 9300 / 0800 652 2363
By taking place in this workshop you will gain up-to-date insights into the issues that matter most. The workshop will take some of the themes from the main conference but will dedicate more time to dialogue and networking within a smaller and interactive environment. This workshop will examine the key issues, developments and achievements with a hands on approach. This workshop will be facilitated by Frank Schiender, Chairman of the NATO Working Group of Applied Interoperability and Autonomy for Military Unmanned Systems. He will be joined by both military and industry representatives so that a holistic approach can be taken and the full spectrum of solutions to capability gaps can be openly discussed.
