Bright Star Bright Star, in beauty aloft thy tender Flame unfurls on velvet cheek – more radiant Than the blush’d morning rose, nature’s splendour Rivalled in a fair maiden’s bloom. Brilliant, Twin pools of twinkling periwinkle spark, Veil’d by dusky lash. My Daphne posed In flight. Seraphim, catch her heart and mark It mine. Bind souls perpetual, unopposed. From the Moirae whim swells a misty veil To chill the deep ardour but thy faery Glow, my fairest star, forever will prevail. My brightest spark, my earthly star, mon che’ri, Thy blooming cheek and sparkling eye reflect A lum’nous soul, thy beauty is perfect.
