Book Report Instructions The book report must include: Cover page: Title of book, name of author, your name, grade, teacher's name, date (month and year) Table of Contents (do not include the cover page and the table of contents) Part A: Appreciation of Language Part B: About the Story Part C: Writing Part D: Opinion Part E: to be done in class ALL drafts ______________________________________________________

Part A: Appreciation of Language Make a mini dictionary with 10 new words you have learned. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Write the words in alphabetical order Include the part of speech (noun, verb, adj, adv, ...) Translate them to Hebrew Write an original sentence for each word to show its meaning.

Part B: About the Story I. For a fiction book. 1. Setting: a) Time (year, season, period of history)____________ b) Place (city, island, inside, outside)_______________ Prove it! Copy a sentence (and page #) that gives you the answer. 2. Main characters: (name, age, personality traits such as: honest, loyal, jealous). Find a few examples from the book to prove what you say. (include page number) 3. Write 5 Wh-questions about what happens in the story and answer them. II. For a Non-narrative (or non-fiction) book: 10 facts: Create a "Ten Facts About_______(book title)" that lists 10 facts you have learned from reading the book. The facts, written in complete sentences, must include details that you didn’t know before reading the book. The facts could relate to factual information, something learned about people in general, or something you learned about yourself. Part C: Writing (at least 80 words) Choose ONE of the following options: * Write a letter to one of the characters

* Write a dialogue between 2 characters in which they discuss the events of the story. * Write a continuation of the story. * Interview one of the characters speaking to the reader about something in the book. Part D: Opinion Answer ALL of the following questions: * Did you enjoy the book? Why / why not? * Which character did you like/ dislike the most? Explain why. * Which event did you like/dislike the most? Explain why. * Would you recommend the book to your friends? Why?
