INTERACTION ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF NEW CHAIR AND BOARD MEMBERS

STATEMENT FROM SAMUEL A. WORTHINGTON, INTERACTION PRESIDENT & CEO Washington, DC (August 12, 2009) – “On behalf of the InterAction staff and member organizations, I am pleased to announce the election of new members to our Board of Directors for the 2009-2010 term. We look forward to their expert guidance and support. Heading the group as Chair is Jo Luck, President and CEO of Heifer International. Jo Luck replaces Charles McCormack, President and CEO of Save the Children, who served as Chair since 2006. Before assuming her current position at Heifer in 1992, Jo Luck served as Heifer’s Director of International Programs and was responsible for their global program for sustainable development. Under her leadership, Heifer International has increased programmatic impact and grown from a $7 million organization into a $120 million one. Since 1944, Heifer has assisted more than 10.5 million families in 125 countries around the world, including the United States. The selection of a new Board Chair is a pivotal one. Charles McCormack has been a true champion of InterAction as the foundation of our community. InterAction realized significant changes during his watch, and we are grateful for his contribution to our growth. My deep appreciation and gratitude go out to the departing board members for all their support and dedication. We look forward to continuing our upward trajectory with Jo Luck at the helm. She has a long and distinguished career of leadership within the international development community and we anticipate fueling our growth momentum with her abundant energy, expertise and insight.” Other new and returning Officers and Board members are: Chris Elias Susan Hayes Benjamin K.
