OUR COMMITMENT

India deserves world-class infrastructure to accelerate economic growth, remove unemployment, minimize rural-urban divide, broadbase prosperity both geographically and socially, and ensure a better life for every citizen. Expanding and modernizing India’s infrastructure on a war-footing is our solemn commitment. That the BJP can think big and also implement big has been demonstrated by two of Vajpayee Government’s dream projects: the National Highway Development Project and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. We will be more ambitious and result-oriented than any previous Government in New Delhi.

India & China were comparable in infrastructure in 1980. China has left India far behind due to misrule by successive Congress Governments Sector

Progress under the UPA has been particularly tardy… The most damning aspect is that the UPA has failed to finish any of the highway projects in phases III, IV, V and VI, started in its own tenure.– India Today

NDA will adopt 100 Projects of National Importance (PNIs) and ensure their time-bound implementation

What (democracy) makes India chaotic and frustrating may also be its saving grace. But it has huge challenges to overcome if it is to catch up. - BBC

The PNIs will not only propel India’s economy in a sustainable manner but will also strive towards a healthy environment

In the first 50 of Independence, India built highways at the rate of 11 km per year. The NDA Government (19982004) achieved a rate of 11 km per day! The rate dropped to 5 km per day during the UPA rule.
