Beginning

There’s a cloud of dust in the distance a jackrabbit hops over the sign. Danger Open Pit No Tresspassing . The post has been broken and the sign with its fading letters has lain undisturbed for many years. A late model Ford materializes out of the dust and a young Geology student gets out of the car. She adjusts her backpack on her shoulders and tucks Her rock pick into her belt and heads off into the bush. The curious jackrabbit follows her into the deep undergrowth.
