Basic Intro 8.4

Circle 8, Bolgia 4 is on the fourth slope of the eighth circle. The souls located in 8.4 are the Fortunetellers and the Diviners. These sinners have tried the forbidden arts to look into the future. The punishments of these sinners are to walk backwards for eternity with their heads turned around and their eyes blinded with tears. Located in this bolgia are Amphiares, who foresaw his own death; Tiresias, who was a diviner and a magician; Aruns, a soothsayer who foretold that Julius Caesar would win the war between him a Pompey; Manto, another diviner; Eurypylus, who was a Greek augur; Michael Scott, whose studies were in the occult category; Guido Bonatti, an astrologer who advised people in war decisions.
